Child Health Program
Child Health Program is a program for children 18 and under who have medical needs beyond routine and 
basic care. Our goal is to help you help your child receive the best possible medical care. The Child Health Program provides coordination of care for children with special health care needs and, in certain cases, can provide some financial assistance.
Services by Wyoming’s Child Health Program include:
- Coordination of care. Helping families access services in their community.
- Financial assistance for qualifying medical conditions.
- Genetics and specialty care clinics.
- Funds for translation services as required.
- Limited funding for transportation.
- Diagnostic evaluation to determine diagnosis.
- Some equipment and medications.

Women and Infant Health Program
The Women and Infant Health Program targets two priority areas in Wyoming: women/maternal health and infant health.
Wyoming Newborn Screening Program
Screening allows for early diagnosis and treatment of disorders that can negatively affect a child’s mental and physical health for a lifetime. In some cases, these disorders can cause death if not diagnosed and treated early.
No federal laws regulate newborn blood spot screening programs. Each state adopts its own screening laws, determines policies and procedures related to screening, and operates its own screening programs. Therefore, the number of conditions that states screen for varies widely.
